Searching for meaning through stories

I’m a strong believer in plots. They not only make stories more fun to read, but they reveal who a character really is. Until he’s tested, he doesn’t know. When he wants something badly and fights to get it, he finds out quickly if he’s strong or weak, brave or cowardly, moral or corruptible. Most people never learn the truth about themselves. A good character always does.
